Rouge Valley Conservation Centre

The Rouge Valley Conservation Centre is owned and operated by the Rouge Valley Foundation, a not-for-profit charitable organization established in 1984, dedicated to protecting, restoring and enhancing the natural and cultural heritage of the Rouge Valley. This is achieved through a variety of restoration and rehabilitation projects and through educational programming.

With wide community support, the Foundation restored the historic Pearse House, a century home situated on the edge of the Rouge Valley and converted it into the Rouge Valley Conservation Centre.

The Rouge Valley Conservation Centre is located in Toronto, Ontario in the Rouge Park, the largest urban park in North America encompassing Toronto, Markham and Whitchurch-Stouffville. The Centre opened it's doors in 1995 and is operated with the assistance of a dedicated group of volunteers. The Centre conducts environmental restoration, monitoring and research and offers interpretive walks and educational programs for the general public, school and community groups and it is the home to local non-profit, volunteer group Citizen Scientists.

The Rouge Valley Conservation Centre is an organization dedicated to raising awareness about conservation in general and the Rouge Valley in particular. The Rouge Valley Conservation Centre offers:

  1. - Guided interpretative walks and program days for schools and community groups of all ages.

  2. - Exciting hands-on, custom-designed programs in support of school curriculum and themes for children
