Rouge Valley Foundation

The Rouge Valley Foundation is a registered charitable non-profit organization, founded in 1984. The focus of the foundation is to preserve and enhance the natural and cultural heritage of the Rouge Valley. This is achieved through a variety of restoration and rehabilitation projects and through educational programming.

With wide community support, the Foundation restored the historic Pearse House, a century home situated on the edge of the Rouge Valley and converted it into the Rouge Valley Conservation Centre.

10,000 Trees is a volunteer group dedicated to restoring natural habitat within the Rouge River watershed.

The Rouge Valley Naturalists are a not-for-profit group that works with other organizations to protect, restore, and enhance the natural heritage of the Rouge River watershed. The Rouge Valley Naturalists educate and inform residents, individuals, community groups and school groups about environmental issues relating to air, land, and water.

Citizen Scientists is a totally volunteer driven, not-for-profit group established in 2001 that focuses on ecological monitoring, environmental training and education. Their focus is to build the capacity of the local community to monitor their local watercourses; and to collect, record and share accurate and reliable stream data.
