Rouge Valley Conservation Centre
On March 26, 2009 we held a special event to launch our Year of Energy Conservation. We were joined by many government delegates including Bob Reid, Special Assistant, Communications to Derek Lee, MP (Scarborough-Rouge River), Irene Sideris, Assistant to John Cannis, MP (Scarborough Centre), Rose Gilmore, Assistant to the Hon. Gerry Phillips, MPP (Scarborough - Agincourt) and Nirmalan Vadivel, Special Assistant to Bas Balkissoon, MPP (Scarborough - Rouge River). Claudio Martinez and other representatives from our lead sponsor EnWise Power Solutions were also on hand to conduct an energy audit at the Rouge Valley Conservation Centre and answer questions about home energy audits, government rebates and lowering your carbon footprint and one of the local schools dropped by to take part in our Energy Efficient Kids education program.
At the launch we announced our plan to upgrade the energy efficiency of the Rouge Valley Conservation Centre by installing solar panels, upgrading our insulation, installing roof vents, ENERGY STAR windows, doors and furnaces and more. Once the work is completed we will be reducing our greenhouse gases by a minimum of 3.8 tonnes per year!
But, before the work can begin we need to raise money to get the work done. To donate or sponsor the Rouge Valley Conservation Centre check out the links below:
